Carsten Degener, 33
Until the end of 2008, Carsten was an Investment
Manager in the Special Situations Group at Credit
Suisse (London), responsible for Pan-European
equity and debt situations, in particular merger arbitrage, consumer
long/short trading and deep-value investing. He was responsible for the development of the German speaking
franchise, including Austria and Switzerland.
Previously, Carsten worked in the Consumer Retail Investment Banking Team at
Credit Suisse in London, where he focused on the Pan-European consumer sector
(incl. Russia). He was amongst others a financial advisor to Heineken on several acquisition
opportunities, incl. proposed acquisition of Colombian Brewer Bavaria S.A.
(¤6.5bn), Brown-Forman Corp. on the sale of its stake in Glenmorangie Plc (¤500m) to LVMH and the IPO of Efes Beverages Int. N.V. on the London Stock Exchange ($800m).
Carsten has a joint-MBA from the University of Cologne (Germany), Universitą Luigi Bocconi (Italy) and the National University of
Singapore. He is fluent in German and English.

Rainer Dullnig, 34
Until the end of 2008, Rainer was an Investment Analyst in the Special
Situations/Event Driven Group of Satellite Asset Management, a
previously $7bn US-based Alternative Investment firm. He was responsible
for analysing and trading Merger Arbitrage and other Event Driven
situations, mainly in the European, Asian and Australian equity markets.
Previously, Rainer worked in the European Mergers & Acquisitions, as
well as Equity Capital Market divisions at Credit Suisse in London. He
was involved in a large number of transactions throughout different
sectors and jurisdictions, such as the acquisition of South African
steel producer Highveld Steel by Evraz Group ($678m), the sale of Dutch
public transport operator Connexxion NV to Transdev SA (¤540m), the
acquisition of Swiss building materials distributor Getaz Romang SA by
CRH plc ($450m), the sale of UK biotech company Sygen plc to Genus plc
($333m), the IPOs of Premiere AG (¤1.2bn), JFC Sistema ($1.6bn), Snecma
SA (¤1.5bn) and Efes Breweries ($800m).
Rainer has a Masters degree in Business Administration
from the Vienna University of Business Administration and Econmics, and
a Masters degree in Law from the Vienna University. He is fluent in
